Soybean Rust Update

Asiatic Soybean Rust was confirmed today on a single leaf from a commercial field near St. Pauls, in Robeson County, North Carolina. Robeson County is adjacent to Columbus County, where last week rust was first confirmed in North Carolina this growing season.

This puts rust closer than it had previously been confirmed to Elizabeth City (190 miles), to Fayetteville (10 miles), to Raleigh (75 miles), to Washington, North Carolina (125 miles), and to Winston-Salem (120 miles). This find is also approximately 190 miles from Charlotte, 315 miles from Murphy, and 70 miles from Wilmington.
