EPA has announced voluntary use and label changes for acephate products
such as Orthene TTO and Pinpoint G.
In an effort to reduce public exposure, homeowner lawn uses will be
discontinued with the exception of fire ant mound treatments. Indoor
treatments will also be discontinued.
Commercial turf uses on golf courses and sod farms are not affected. There is no mention of restricting use on trees and shrubs, yet.
Label changes are taking effect and the deadline for discontinued uses is October 31, 2002.
