Update on Televised Plant Disease and Insect Clinics

Extension specialists in the Plant Pathology and Entomology Departments at North Carolina State University will conduct 4 two- hour programs on current plant disease and insect pest problems in North Carolina on the MCNC interactive television network. Specialists will display plant diseases and insects with tips on identification and diagnosis. Agents and others at off-campus locations can also show specimens for assistance with identification or as examples. In 1995, these programs were very popular with urban/horticulture agents and Master Gardeners.

The first televised clinic is now scheduled for May 16 at 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Note that this is a new date and time for the first program! The other programs will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on June 12, July 10, and August 7, 1996. The televised clinics are available at the following locations in North Carolina:

Appalachian State University
Bowman Gray School of Medicine
East Carolina University (Medical Center)
North Carolina State University
University of North Carolina at Asheville
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
University of North Carolina at Wilmington

Work is in progress for a site at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro and Fayetteville State University. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Ron Jones or Sterling Southern.
