Katydid Songs Filling the Night Air

When the cicadas are tired from singing all day, the katydids take over at night filling the trees with noise. Below are web links to some interesting articles describing the songs of Katydids found in Raleigh by B.B. Fulton of North Carolina State College. They are from 1932. I guess some music never goes out of style. Katydids differ in their activity during the season and by time of day. It looks like August and September are going to be loud months.
