7 Weed and Disease Mapping
Just before the crop is harvested, draw a disease and weed map. Use
an Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service map (if available)
to mark infested areas. If a map is not available, draw an oudine of the
field and circle the trouble spots that have been identified. Be sure to
indicate on the map weeds or diseases found in each field and the infestation
levels. Do not try to identify each specific spot observed; instead, mark
general trouble spots. This map will help in planning weed and disease
management programs for subsequent crops.
